Nepean Referees Group were back in action for 2025 over the very warm Australia Day weekend, covering NPL games at Cook Park, St Marys, and David Bertenshaw Field, Richmond Lowlands.
With many trial matches across the Nepean Football Association expected through February, NRG Vice President, Phil Macdonald, encouraged referees to make sure they complete their registration on PLAYFOOTBALL early and to keep their availability updated in Dribl.
“The trial matches are a great way for our referees to get some game time in ahead of the season kick off in late March” he said.
Mr Macdonald also recognised the fortunate position NRG is in, particularly with its junior referees.
“The Nepean District has been blessed with some incredible refereeing talent in recent years. In 2024, we had several junior referees make their centre debut in a senior match, and several debuts in Waratah and Ruby League fixtures for both junior and senior referees.”
“It’s just great to see so much young talent getting these opportunities. They are being supported by more experienced senior referees and referee assessors and they are doing a fantastic job.”
Returning referees can register for the 2025 season via PLAYFOOTBALL.
